A heat pump is the most efficient way to heat and cool a building. Instead of burning fuel, it moves existing heat — pulling warmth from the outside air or from water and delivering it indoors in winter, then reversing in summer to provide cooling. A modern Trane heat pump delivers 3–4 kW of heating for every 1 kW of electricity it uses, cutting both energy bills and CO₂ emissions.
